Essay contest offers chance for laptop, tablets

A new essay contest sponsored by the Children’s Education Alliance of Missouri is offering middle and high school students at St. Louis College Prep a chance to win a laptop or tablet for sharing their views on school choice.

The My Future, My Choice Essay Contest is open to all students in the St. Louis area, with an entry deadline of Nov. 28.

Sixth through eighth grade students are asked to write an essay answering the question: “How do you think education will help you achieve your dreams?”

High school students’ essays will answer the question: “What would the ideal high school for you look like and why?”

Questions must be answered in 1,000 words or less, and will be graded on creativity and originality (50%), appropriate use of theme (25%), and quality of composition (25%).

Winners in the contest will be announced at National School Choice Week in January 2017.
