OUR CORE BELIEFS

OUR WHY

We believe a child’s access to a great education should not be determined by zip code.

MISSION

Our mission is to prepare scholars to enter college, succeed in college, and graduate from college by challenging students academically and emphasizing the importance of character and community responsibility.

WHO WE ARE

St. Louis College Prep is a tuition-free, public charter, college –prep middle and high school in  the City of St. Louis.  We provide free education and transportation to 320 scholars 6th through 11th grade.  Our student population is as socio-economically and racially diverse as St. Louis itself. We pride ourselves on three pillars:

WE ARE FAMILY:

We foster a "family atmosphere," meaning our staff knows the names and stories of our scholars. This allows staff members to strike a balance between encouraging school spirit and culture while still valuing each scholar as an individual with their own unique strengths and needs.

WE ARE RESTORATIVE:

Our robust support staff to scholar ratio allows us to offer the resources and supports that ensure the success of every one of our scholars. From social skills groups to support for families in transition or homeless, we ensure that zip codes do not dictate a child's (success) story. We follow a year-round academic model combats the effects of summer-learning loss.

WE ARE COLLEGE BOUND:

Our scholars do not wait until high school for college exposure. Instead, they have the opportunities to participate in college visits starting in sixth grade. Our Early College Program is offered to juniors and seniors so they can earn up to 20 college credit hours on local campuses at no cost to them or their families. Furthermore, we work with each student to build individualized academic plans with targeted interventions-- allowing scholars to average 1.5-2 years of growth each school year.
